BEELDGANG.
My photography arose from the realization that everything is finite and that I try to capture emotions in that movement. It’s also a mix between the traditional photography and motion pictures. Themes that arise are voids, alienation, false certainties, the contrast between cities and nature, and the search for meaning. In each image I look for the tension of that one moment, not sharp but deliberately vague. For me, many photos are studies, attempts. And in doing so, to reflect on the essential matters in human life.
Artists who inspired me are Marcel Duchamp, Henri Matisse, Francis Bacon and the movie directors Andrej Tarkovski and Krzysztof Kieslowski.

The beach as inspiration, this time as a scene of complete alienation. People who are by shere coincidence in an enormous empty space.
Collaboration with Tatiana Rivero Sanz
A collaboration with Tatiana Rivero Sanz, who made a short film based a book of my choice and pictures. The result is an impressive piece of art, poetic and atmospheric. I love the way she combined movie, photography and music.
Short film by Tatiana Rivero Sanz called ‘Intimate Camus (The Outsider): The sun kills’.
